Charlotte FC player Anton Walkes dead at 25 after mishap, group says

Charlotte FC protector Anton Walkes, who recently played for Tottenham Hotspur, passed on Thursday after a mishap in Florida, his soccer club declared. He was 25.

Walkes was found oblivious Wednesday in Miami following an accident between two boats, the Florida Fish and Natural life Preservation Commission told the Miami Messenger. He was allegedly hospitalized in basic condition before his demise.

“We are sorrowful from the deficiency of Anton Walkes, a genuinely unbelievable dad, cherishing individual, and extraordinary person,” said Zoran Krneta, the donning head of Charlotte FC. “Anton exemplified being a piece of Charlotte Football Club and our whole local area is lamenting over this misfortune.”

The London-conceived Walkes appeared with Tottenham in 2016, three years in the wake of marking with the English Head Association club at age 16.
He played on credit the next year with the Significant Association Soccer club Atlanta Joined together, beginning 17 of 20 games and scoring two objectives during the 2017 season. Walkes returned to Britain to play with Portsmouth F.C. prior to getting back to Atlanta, where he showed up in 50 games with the club across 2020 and 2021.

Charlotte FC chose Walkes in the 2021 MLS extension draft. The protector, who wore No. 5, began 20 of 23 games during the club’s debut season in 2022.

“The effect he made in the storage space and all through Charlotte won’t ever be neglected,” Krneta said. “We are thinking about his exquisite family during this time and will uphold them completely inside and out.”

In a recognition Thursday, Atlanta Joined portrayed Walkes as “the encapsulation of an extraordinary colleague.”

“There are no words to portray the distress of everybody in Significant Association Soccer today subsequent to learning of the shocking passing of Anton Walkes of Charlotte FC,” the MLS said in an explanation. “Anton was a capable and devoted player who was cherished by his partners and fans.”
